Beat Recommends: The Great Intervention Movie Premier

When Steve Moramarco, lead singer of The Abe Lincoln Story, hit a rough patch for a while a couple years ago, instead of wallowing in the resulting depression, he realized that his broken dreams, general lack of direction and streak of bad luck might just be good for a laugh. So he raised $5,000 on Kickstarter, put together the bare bones of a script, asked friends and family to help him out, and made a movie. Largely improvised and made on the cheap, the movie centers around the idea of Moramarco’s friends and family setting up a “life intervention” to get him to straighten up and get his life in order. More will follow on Moramarco and his movie- watch these pages- but in the meantime you can attend the world premiere at The Downtown Independent on Monday Sept. 26, which will be followed by a Q & A with the cast.
