It’s all Fresh and New!

Honestly, I have no excuse when I’ve just left my 92-year-old neighbor who has kept me busy downloading calendar pages for 2012. He can’t decide which ones he likes, so we’ve only gone up to May and will finish tomorrow.

For Christmas I finally got a Clarisonic and all I can say is wow. Actually, I’m going to say a lot more than that, because yes, it does live up to the hype. What it removed from my skin on a makeup-free day (sunscreen only) was shocking and bordered on shame level. I can feel a difference already and for those of you who read me regularly, you know how obsessed I am with my skin texture. I got the Mia model-I don’t need the large, fancy one. Thank you, Suzy Claus.

I’m not crazy about lists myself although I love to read others, especially my LA Girls. The only reason I don’t like making my own is because the minute I commit them to print I go “Oh, I forgot ___!” So, these are completely random, but if you want me to do a separate post about any of them, I will be happy to babble on about them at any time.

Paula’s Choice Beta Hydroxy Acid: Exfoliates inside the pore (you need a certain pH to do that- read all about it here in Paula’s words.) For those with “mixed” skin as I call it: starting to wrinkle and what on earth am I doing breaking out at my age? This is the wonder product. Muddy complexions be gone.

Soap and Glory Oh, how I love you. Let me count the ways. I have already posted about your US launch at Sephora (thank heavens) and I just got my restock. Night in Shining Armour? Check. Clean on Me? The best shower smell ever. So much so that my last remaining drops were a watered down version that I made last for months. Hand Food? To die for. The Righteous Butter? Lay it on me. Original Pink scent? Spray it on me. I. Love. You.

Mark T Wendell Tea Company is where I get my regular shipments of Black Ginger, which I became addicted to over a decade ago while living in NY via Tea and Sympathy. In a serendipitous twist, the originator of this tea is about twenty miles from my birthplace. I’m having a nice cup right now. Even when I lived in London, I could not find a better blend.

Larchmont Beauty – I popped in just today. They make me happy, they have great service, and…and…what more can I say? The smell when you are walking by is a grown up’s version of a beauty bakery. If I was one of those crazy women who married the Eiffel Tower or a park bench I would marry Larchmont Beauty. But only if I got the goods inside.

My magazine subscriptions: Allure, Vogue, and Marie Claire.
