Wednesday, June 20,from 5pm to close, German Restaurant and Biergarten, Wirtshaus, will celebrate the first day of summer. Expect summer drink specials and live music, including traditional German music. The featured drink special is a popular summer beer, 
 “Berliner Weisse mit Schuss,” a regional sour wheat beer from northern Germany. No word on summer sausage.

Govind Armstrong’s Post and Beam Will begin serving Sunday brunch on June 24th. The Baldwin Hills restaurant will be utilizing defined, clean flavors for their “reimagined favorites.” Some of the new dishes available from 11:30am to 3:30pm include “Burrata salad with shaved fennel, peaches, and smoked almonds; Smoked Salmon Hash with poached eggs and chive oil; and Soft Shell Crab and Bacon Grits with shellfish butter.”

On Wednesday, June 27th Papilles’ second installment of a dinner series dedicated to natural and biodynamic wines, presents an evening with the wines of Frank Cornelissen. “The Belgian born winemaker operates a vineyard on the slopes of Mt. Etna, and since 2001 has been developing a unique style of winemaking that relies on nature and is completely chemically free.” Chef Tim Carey’s pairing menu will include Foie Gras and Peaches, Smoked Tasmanian Sea Trout, and Crispy Pork Belly and Manilla Clams. $69 per person; reservations recommended.
