What Would You Do for Free Pastrami?

Would you wait in a really super long line? I have a feeling that’s what will be happening today at Langer’s in the Westlake area. 7th and Alvarado is even being shut down in anticipation of the crowds starting at 10am today.

To celebrate its 65th birthday, Langer’s is offering free pastrami sandwiches today and tomorrow. This Jonathan Gold favorite will be supplying all comers with a no. 19, hot steamed pastrami, cole slaw, Russian dressing and Swiss cheese on double-baked rye bread.

But there is a catch or two. You must be seated inside the restaurant — no “to go” sandwiches. For the Saturday promotion you have to ride the Metro and show a valid pass or ticket.
