Dead Men’s Tales at The Last Bookstore

The Last Bookstore gets into the Halloween spirit on Oct 24th, with “Dead Men Do Tell Tales,” featuring “music, lectures, and films about dead things (Or nearly dead things. Or things that might eventually die, which I guess opens the night up to pretty much any topic).”

The free, all-ages events start at 7:30pm and include a slideshow lecture by Dr. Paul Koudounaris (The Empire of Death) on Sicilian Sex Ghosts (All ages, huh?), stories about great authors’ deaths from Clowns and Fetuses, with theramin music by Paul Wilkins, a performance by horror rock band Rosemary’s Billygoat (featuring Mike Odd, host of Knott’s Berry Farms’ Halloween Horror Nights), as well as films and “free diseases” from the Art of Bleeding.

How could you turn down free diseases? The Last Bookstore is located at 453 S. Spring st. in downtown L.A.

  1. Lori Nyx says:

it wouldn’t be the holidays without a set from “goat baby” and Sicilian sex ghosts.
