Dadaismus at HM157 – An Auditory Odyssey

Looking for something different to do next weekend? HM157 – the historical Lincoln Heights mansion that serves as a venue, gallery, workshop and more – is hosting an intriguing event called Dadaismus on Saturday, May 24 at 8pm. A bi-monthly experience, Dadaismus is curated by artist in residence Michelle Carr, who is the founder of the 90s club Jabberjaw and the Velvet Hammer Burlesque troupe.

The “auditory odyssey” includes sets by oddball 90s band The Centimeters, Mexican/SoCal electronic group L.A. Dronas, the experimental Circuitry and Poetry, performance art by Anna Homler, spoken word by John Tottenham, modern dance by mecca vazie andrews and projections by The Mystery Machine. After midnight there will be a DJ set by Don Bolles (just to wrap up the weirdness).

The event is all ages and there will be food and drinks. There is a $12 contribution or $5 after midnight.
