today at the los angeles/long beach harbor labor coalition 35th annual labor day march and rally in downtown wilmington I got the chance to hobble alongside andy harris (ilwu, local 13) and his family. andy’s a big time reason there’s a san pedro skatepark association and both the channel street and the brand new peck park skateparks are a result him and many righteous cats who contributed all kinds to get those happening.
after the march I chowed some good grilled dogs and watched brian young and the blues station at banning park (where the parade ended) kick up some groovin’ blues w/a good drive, a good vibe and I dug it. on my way back to the boat (parked right near the drum barracks museum), fourth parade in a row I meet again legendary picture taker gary leonard – I was too shy however to take his picture but much respect to him from me, love his work.
