Long Beach Folk Revival Festival 2014

All Photos Taken by Piera Peruvian for the LA Beat

The Long Beach Folk Revival Festival took place last weekend at the picturesque Rainbow Lagoon Park.  The weather was perfect and the food trucks were plentiful.

Booths selling vintage clothes, on-the-spot screen printed shirts, a pop-up barber shop, and various other novelties aligned the walkways, while five stages were spread through-out the park.  Fiddlers, washboard players, upright bass slapping, and twang-y instruments echoed throughout each area for the entirety of the day of what turned out to be a great event for the family.

A tent at the entrance had best beard contest, square dancing, and even a side-show among other events.  I captured the first half of the day in the photos below, before having a bit too much barbeque and ice cream, I couldn’t lift my camera to my eye any longer.

Enjoy!

About Piera Peruvian

Piera's life mimics that of Paddington Bear. Born in the deepest darkest Peru, she soon found herself a stowaway, landing in London sometime thereafter. She now resides in Los Angeles where she likes attending gigs, photographing casually, and wondering about the country when time and finances permit. She also enjoys writing short self-bios... in third person of course.
