Del Frisco’s in Irvine has begun their own Happy Hour for their guests. This exclusive Happy Hour, only available at the Irvine location, features several special libations and appetizers to start your fun in good taste. The VIP Martini is their signature drink, with pineapple-infused Svedka Clementine Vodka. Like most items at Del Frisco’s, the infusion is done at the bar from fresh Hawaiian pineapple. The drink has a very subtle taste, with no elements overpowering the other.

With Tito’s Vodka, muddled strawberries, Lemon Sour, simple syrup and a dash of balsamic vinegar for acid, there is only one thing that can elevate this drink. That is a bit of fresh ground pepper on the top, adding just enough bite to really transform the drink. House wines and draft beers fill out the Happy Hour menu which is available in the bar only from 3 to 6pm Monday through Friday.

The appetizers that can be enjoyed for the Happy Hour are superb. A unique starter are the Tuna Tacos. These small, 3 bite tacos are in a crispy corn shell, filled with delicious fresh ahi tuna tartare and topped with avocado and spicy citrus mayo. The contrast of flavors and textures in this dish is hard to beat. Another appetizer winner is the Deviled Eggs, an upscale version of the old picnic favorite. The kicker is the Truffle Chive Vinaigrette, which definitely kicks the flavor up.

If there is a must have appetizer at Del Frisco’s it is their creation called Cheesesteak Eggrolls. Using a cheesesteak-style filling inside, the crispy eggroll shells, that alone would be enough to create a tasty appetizer. But wait, there’s more! Served with two dipping sauces, a Sweet and Spicy Chili Sauce and a Honey Mustard, these rolls can be very addicting. The completely unexpected blend of flavors work amazingly well. It is a great dish for sharing, but also a perfect dish to keep for yourself.

Wild Mushroom flatbread. Photo by Ed Simon for The Los Angeles Beat. Possibly the best value of any Happy Hour specialty any place, Del Frisco’s Grille makes their flatbreads to order. Choices include Roasted Tomato, Pesto Chicken, Wild Mushroom or Pepperoni and Sausage. The thin, crisp crust works very well with the fresh toppings. The sauce is not too much and maintains the integrity of the crust. Hers such as fresh arugula add a nice flavor dimension to the flatbreads.

Happy Hour at Del Frisco’s Grille in Irvine runs from 3 to 6pm Monday through Friday. It is available in the bar area and has plenty of seating for small and large parties.
