Today Amber Rose met with the press at the prestigious City Club in DTLA to bring attention to Amber Rose Foundation’s “SlutWalk,” which is from noon to 5PM tomorrow, Saturday Oct. 3rd, at Pershing Square.

“SlutWalk” is about asserting yourself without fear or apprehension in public spaces or public places. Those in attendance will be able to declare that no woman is “asking for it” no matter what she chooses to wear or how she chooses to look! At today’s press conference Amber was cordial and articulate about her position on feminism and her choice of lifestyle.

The very first Slutwalk was held in Toronto in 2011 as a reaction to a police officer publicly stating, “…women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized.” The Slutwalk soon spread around the world. The walk aims to stop victim blaming, slut shaming and rape culture.

Some of the women marchers protest by dressing scantily, asserting their right to dress “like a slut” without fear of reprisal. For those who want to fly their “Freak Flag” high, or those of like mind and feelings the group will assemble at Pershing Square at 11Am. You can follow the “SlutWalk” on Twitter. There will be booths, speakers and entertainment for all to join in on the celebration of freedom, self-expression and empowerment without stigma of slut shaming.
