Come out from under the bed! Stop hiding in the bushes! And we can totally see you behind that curtain! The Los Angeles Public Library has announced that in honor of Valentine’s Day they will waive overdue fees in order to reunite lost books with empty shelves. There will be no dues charged for any books brought back between February 1st and 14th.

The offer includes any library materials, including videos; they just have to be undamaged. There will be no fee waiver for damaged or lost items, but you can talk to your librarian about replacing lost items. Other fees may also be excluded from this offer. If you have unpaid fees from items that were previously returned, just call the library and ask to have the fees waived. If your library card has been suspended, it will be reactivated and you can begin using it again. Your local librarian thanks you. And also, “Shhhhh.”

  1. How nice! I think I have fines at the Burbank Library though, haha.
