Award winning Canadian director Patricia Chica’s short “A Tricky Treat” will be shown Saturday, April 2nd at 2 p.m. at the Los Angeles Burbank Hotel as part of the Days of the Dead Weekend Los Angeles. The “horror-comedy with a twist” runs just over three minutes but there’s plenty of blood and gore to feast on along with some entertaining holiday family values. Chica’s work depicts strong characters using visual ingenuity, delivering thought-provoking entertaining screen stories including “Ceramic Tango” and “Serpents Lullaby.” She’s also been part of the Soska Sister hosted “Massive Blood Drive PSA” anthology for the “Women in Horror Month.” The Etheria Panel will follow at 3 p.m.
Etheria Film Night is an annual genre film showcase screening work directed by women for an industry, media and fan audience. Women have contributed episodes of The Walking Dead, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Game of Thrones. Etheria gives women directors the spotlight, showcasing their talent and contributions to the screen.
