On Sunday, April 3rd, Masters of Taste, a new luxury food and beverage festival”, will take place from 3pm to 7pm on the field of the Pasadena Rose Bowl. Forty carefully curated restaurants will provide small plates while you enjoy a variety of beverages, including “signature handcrafted cocktails and tastings from over 25 Beverage Masters which will include bartenders from top cocktail bars, wineries, local craft breweries, pressed juices, and hand roasted coffee.”

Participating chefs include Neal Fraser of Redbird (pictured), Bernhard Mairinger of BierBeisl, Vanda Asapahu of Ayara Thai, Brendan Collins of Birch, Calogero Drago of Celestino, Tim Guiltinan of The Raymond 1886, Eduardo Pineda of Sangers & Joe, Tia Baker of SOL Cocina, Michael “Mick” Schepers of HACHÉ LA, Chris Crary of Hyde, Carolos Tomazos of Inotheke, and Yoya Takahashi of Hamasaku. Sweets and desserts will be created by Alique Gourmet Toffee, Butter Cake Shoppe, Copenhagen Pastry, Helados Pops Ice Cream, Sprinkles and LA Beat favorite Crème Caramel.

Ales, lagers, pilsners and more will be provided by brewers such as Alosta Brewing Co., Bootlegger’s Brewery, Iron Triangle Brewing, Indie Brewing Company, Golden Road Brewing, Elysian Brewing  and Goose Island Beer Co. Varietals from Alexander Valley Vineyards Anglim Winery, Ascension Cellars, and Jamieson Ranch Vineyards and more will be poured.

Some of L.A.’s top cocktail bars will be creating first-rate craft cocktails, “including a premium barrel-aged cocktail bar provided by Erik Lund and Alexander’s Steakhouse, signature handcrafted cocktails from Head Barman Peter Lloyd-Jones and 1886 Bar, special spiked breakfast cereal cocktails from Nighthawk’s Giovanni Martinez, and handcrafted DesMaDre tequila cocktails prepared by Beverage Director Colin Pflugradt of SOL Cocina.” Hooch, the private members-only cocktail app, will be hosting a Snow Leopard cocktail bar. There had better be a real snow leopard there! This is a luxury event!

A variety of non-alcoholic beverages will also be available, including “a Kyoto iced coffee, espresso and blood orange cappuccino from the newly opened Demitasse in Hollywood, all natural, refreshing and energizing sparkling beverages from Diabolo and fresh, cold-pressed juices from Nekter Juice Bar.

There will also be live entertainment, plus lifestyle activations. I don’t know what a lifestyle activation is. I looked it up and it seems to involve music, living a healthy lifestyle, and getting the most out of leisure activities (isn’t leisure activities an oxymoron?)

General Admission ($125) will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. VIP admission ($225) includes a VIP “Power Hour” from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, private lounge seating and concierge dining service. 21 and over. Complimentary parking.

Approximately 2,000 food and beverage enthusiasts from throughout the Greater Los Angeles area are expected to attend this inaugural event. Will you be one of them?
