The Marvelous Dead and Darkness Tour of the Mummies of the World at the Bowers Museum June 4th

The Bowers Museum in Santa Ana is currently exhibiting The Mummies of the World. If preserved dead people are not spooky enough for you, on Saturday June 4th and Sunday the 5th, there will be a nighttime tour through the dark gallery lit only by lantern. The tour will be led by Dr. Paul Koudounaris, author of “The Empire of Death.” He will be lecturing on “the history of mummification…the theology and cultural significance of preserving and displaying the dead,” as well as focusing on specific mummies in the show.

Prior to the tour, there will be a Prix Fixe Dinner at Tangata Restaurant with themed selections like Farmer’s Market Bloodred Beet Soup, Monkfish Massacre, Beast Tongue dredged with infernal dram, nested in ravioli and Chocolate Sinful Soufflé. Vegan options will also be available. The bar will be open and DJ Decadanse will be spinning from 7pm on. Tickets are a reasonable $65 per person. Buy your tickets now!
