This renowned event, opened in 1950 is a celebration of both modern and classic automobile, is more than a prestigious showcase of beautiful cars from around the world. This week-long event (this year spanning August 15-21) draws thousands of people to view the caravan of  rare luxury cars, including European Classics, Ferrari Grand Touring, Post War Sports Racing, Chapron Delahayes, BMW, Centennial, and so many other stunning cars I would call it the “Mona Lisa “ of tributes to the automotive industry.

Seeing the magnificent prewar 1931 Duesenberg J Murphy Convertible Coupe or the 1911 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Thrupp & Maberly Limousine pass by me was like being in a time machine. It gave me a glimpse of times past. These perfectly kept cars are a historical legacy for people of all ages, races and cultures to enjoy.

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, with its primary charitable partner, the Pebble Beach Company Foundation, has raised over $21 million dollars. Proceeds from the Concours helps over 100 charities –the Boys and Girls Clubs of Monterey County, Natividad Medical Foundation, Kindship Center, Animal Friends Project, Montage Health and many more.

Stayed tuned for coverage of the week’s events…
