just back from the “canto secondo tour 2016” in europe w/my fratelli in il sogno del marinaio (you can read the tour diary here), I discovered the pickup ring on my 1965 gibson eb-0 (I call it “the dan bass” cuz a great cat named dan gave it to me after a gig in san diego) was cracked/broken/busted and who came to the rescue to make it happening again? dirk vandenberg of guitar safari, that’s who! here he is, testing it out near his pad w/waves breaking on cabrillo beach behind him. great to be home, great to see dirk again.
