Every year we wait with bated breath for the January issue of Los Angeles Magazine. Their Top 10 Best Restaurants is always interesting, and this year they bucked the trends by featuring the small and affordable Howlin’ Ray’s Chicken, and even ventured south of Manhattan Beach to select my own hometown haunt, Barans 2239.

Join Los Angeles Magazine Wednesday, January 18, at the  A+D Museum downtown as they celebrate the Best New Restaurants. Guests will enjoy gourmet tastings from honored chefs as well as past honorees, hand-crafted cocktails, wine, beer and live music from 7pm until 9pm.

Participating chefs include Executive Chef Tyler Gugliotta of Barans 2239, premiering his contemporary yet playful style using the bounty of his family farm. Chef-partner Jonathan Whitener of Here’s Looking at You (HLAY) will be enchanting diners with his global flavors, while the eponymous Nick Erven will thrill with his ridiculously craveable vegan food. Longtime LA Beat favorite, chef Vartan Abgarya of the much-lauded 71 Above will treat you to his refined and modern cooking, which disproves any false notions about the quality food at restaurants with a view.

Tickets for unlimited food and drinks are only $75. Get yours now!
