Keepin’ Cool by the Pool…

…when you don’t have one. Although, in my last building I had one, and the resident perv made it impossible to swim. If you belong to the YMCA (which I highly recommend), you can swim at any of their well-kept pools.

Today I was at Pan Pacific Park and the library. The library lot can get full with pool parkers but I found a meter-free spot on the street, hit the library for a noon book sale, then strolled through Pan Pacific over to the Farmer’s Market. The Pan Pacific Park pool was not as crowded as I thought – hey, I’ve spent many a New York summer on the Carmine Street Pool’s concrete – and the park makes a nice, shady respite. Why not? It’s free.

  1. I found a really nice natural pond on Wilshire, you just have to hop the fence. It even has statues of wooly mammoths …hey, I can’t move my feet…what the?

I like that pool but people watch me swim and it smells.
