Long Beach’s MLK Park will be jumping Saturday afternoon at its 25th annual MLK Peace & Unity Celebration, presenting  a free concert from noon to 5PM featuring the remarkable Lowrider Band, better known as four of the five living members of the classic lineup of WAR. Howard Scott, Harold Brown, Lee Oskar and B.B. Dickerson have been legally prevented from using the name of the band they founded, but the man can’t bust the music; their performance at the John Anson Ford Theater last summer with Mandrill was one of the year’s high points, a thrilling exhibition in which WAR’s finest songs were given new life by their creators. They don’t hit the Southland that often so be sure not to miss them in a free show with food vendors and free carnival rides, the perfect setting to kick back and experience some “All Day Music.”
