Those that know me know that I am the crazy cat lady that your mother warned you about. I love cats and I also love organizations like Stray Cat Alliance. The Alliance’s mission statement:
“Stray Cat Alliance educates and empowers the community to advocate for every cat’s right to be safe, healthy and valued. We are building a no kill nation, one stray at a time…[we are] committed to the care and protection of the forgotten strays and feral cats living in the shadows of our world. Our programs are a large piece of the puzzle in creating a No Kill Nation, where a home is found for every healthy or treatable companion animal, feral cats are fixed and properly cared for, and sterilization is readily available.”
So imagine my joy when I found out that portions of the proceeds from The Cat Art Show will benefit The Stray Cat Alliance! Feeding several of my addictions in one event!!
This celebration of the feline form is curated by Susan Michals who owns one cat, a Maine Coon, named, Miss Kitty Pretty Girl, and has written about art and culture for a variety of publications that you have heard of such as The Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, and The Huffington Post. It is surprising that Ms. Michals only owns one cat, yet has put together this fabulous show.
