Concert Preview: Sasquatch, White Dynomite and The Freeks Rock El Cid

Sasquatch

Sasquatch

Hard rockers Sasquatch brings their swinging, Black Sabbath- and Mountain-inspired tunes to El Cid Nightclub in Silver Lake this Saturday evening.  Sasquatch IV, released in 2013, continues with the heavy, pounding tunes that make Sasquatch, perhaps, the world’s most appropriately named rock band.  Supporting Sasquatch are Boston’s White Dynomite and Los Angeles’ The Freeks.

The Freeks, formed by Ruben Romano of Fu Manchu and Nebula fame, have raised their profile with the addition of guitarist Jonathan Hall (Angry Samoans, Backbiter)and drummer and Los Angeles Beat Music Editor Bob Lee (Claw Hammer, Mike Watt, Backbiter). Full On, The Freeks’ 2013 release which includes Hall on guitar and vocals, adds psychedelia and 60’s Detroit punk to the adrenalin junkie sonic thrills that attracted both surf/skate rats and desert rockers to Romano’s former bands.

The Freeks – 9:45 p.m.; White Dynomite – 10:45 p.m.; and Sasquatch – 11:45 p.m.

El Cid is located at 4212 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA. Admission is $7.
