This Sunday, La Luz de Jesus will be hosting a book release party for Stuffed Animals: A Modern Guide to Taxidermy. The authors will be giving a talk and demo and signing books. The event goes from 1pm – 6pm.

Taxidermy has come a long way since your uncle had that deer head mounted on his wall. Authors Divya Anantharaman and Katie Innamorato are committed to ethical and sustainable sourcing. Today taxidermy is about the combination of art and science with new aesthetics and an interest in experimentation. Think of Steve Carell’s whimsical mouse dioramas in “Dinner for Schmucks.”

In “Stuffed Animals,” the authors “demystify the practice, shatter the gross stereotypes, and make taxidermy accessible to anyone, anywhere…[This book is] Both a helpful how-to manual and a strangely captivating gift book…”

Books will be available for purchase in-store for signing.
