Photo Essay: Tacolandia 2017

Tacolandia 2017 (All photos by Elise Thompson for The LA Beat)

Last week we attended the 5th annual Tacolandia event. Organized by The LA Weekly and curated by Tacorizzo Bill Esparza, the one day festival is one of the biggest and most popular food events in Los Angeles. This year there were more than 120 taco vendors taking over even more parking lots at El Pueblo de Los Angeles, but no matter how big they make it, the crowds are always bigger. I have no official numbers but I estimate the crowd at a bajillion. A few cash bars kept the crowd from getting drunk and rowdy, but the party still raged. Check out our pictures after the break.
