LA Magazine’s Food Event Returns to Saddlerock Ranch

Prepare yourself for one of LA’s greatest food events, which will be happening at the gorgeous Saddlerock Ranch in the Mailibu Hills on Sunday, October 15th from 2pm until 5pm. As you stroll along the verdant meadow, you will enjoy tastes from 40 of the best chefs in LA, plus drinks from LA sommeliers and bartenders, and demos from some very talented chefs.

Los Angeles magazine’s 12th annual Food Event includes some of our favorite restaurants, including Baltaire, Baran’s 2239 from my hometown of Hermosa Beach, bone kettle, whose oxtail dumplings will make you swoon, everyone’s favorite special occasion restaurant, 71 Above, Cliff’s Edge, Thomas Keller’s LA outpost, Bouchon Bistro, The best restaurant revival in the history of LA — Cassell’s, Chef Antonia Lofaso’s Scopa Italian Roots, Simone, Chef Mirko Paderno’s Estrella on Sunset, and a preview of the much-anticipated NYC transplant, Eataly LA. We would be remiss if we did not also recommend Chef Wes Avila’s Guerilla Tacos, Michael’s Santa Monica, Chef Walter Manzke’s Republique, Saddle Peak Lodge, which always serves exotic game, and the gem of Studio City, The Bellwether.

Let Arjun, Nakul and Pawan Mahendro from Badmaash introduce you to the true complexity of curry at their chef’s demo. Other demos will be given by Miles Thompson of Michael’s, Jessica Largey of Simone, and Maycoll Calderon of Tintorera.

This may be your last opportunity to wear that gorgeous sundress. However, do wear flats so your heels don’t sink into the grass, and we recommend closed-toe shoes, because you may be parking in a pasture. It is a ranch. And yes, there are horses, and camels, and even zebras. Must be 21 and older. No pets allowed unless they are camels or zebras.
