On Saturday evening, July 14, 2018 the “Concern Foundation hosted their 44th Annual Block Party,” honoring Dr Jay and Kris Calvert and family on the backlot of Paramount Studios in Hollywood.

This year’s theme was “Cancer Crusaders,” with Batman, the Hulk, Spider Man, Superman, Captain America, and Wonder Woman, who were everywhere at this great party! Over 4,000 people attended and successfully raised $1.8 million for cancer research through ticket sales, donations, and bids on auction items.

The event was a gastronomic feast, with over 70 of Los Angeles’ best restaurants, caterers, beverage vendors and merchants participating. Restaurants and vendors included Ocean Prime, Pinks Famous Hotdogs, Fresh Brother’s Pizza, Button Mash,  Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Urban Oven, Laura’s Lean, and Fogo de Chao.

The night filled with fun and captivating entertainment from the casino-style gambling, The Best of LA on Los Angeles Magazine’s street featuring the INFINITI Lounge, gifts bags and photo booths to a celebrity bar hosted by actors Chad Johnson, Gabe Jarret, Lili Bourdan and many others.

The centerpiece of the party was the live auction with the notorious entertainment reporter Mar Yvette, who presented many great items to bid on, including VIP tickets to the American Music Awards 2018, exclusive Dodger Dugout game seats, and a six-night vacation at a luxurious resort in Maui.

This was the Concern Foundation’s 50th anniversary. The foundation is dedicated to raising and granting funds to support cancer research worldwide. Since its inception by a small group of friends in 1968, the Concern Foundation has awarded over $60 million dollars to cancer research. Today there are more cancer survivors than ever before, thanks to the Concern Foundation’s altruistic commitment and dedication worldwide.
