The Scientists at Zebulon

Well, it finally happened. After over 30 years of waiting, Australian garage-punk legends The Scientists finally toured the U.S., and made one of my dreams come true. They played two scorching shows at Zebulon, and those shows were so wild, that people haven’t stopped talking about it for days.

Kim Salmon gave an absolutely stellar performance. His voice was on point, and the band sounded incredible. They opened Wednesday night’s show with “Rev Head’, followed by their killer version of “You Only Live Twice”, and then went into favorites such as “Solid Gold Hell”, “Set It On Fire”, “Swampland”, and “We Had Love”. The set was so good, that it was almost too much to handle! The band was literally working the crowd into a frenzy! They left the stage after one encore, but the crowd begged for more, so they came back and gave us “Last Night”, “Happy Hour”, and finally ended the show with “If It’s the Last Thing I Do”. This was truly one of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen in my life. They exceeded my expectations. If you’re a Scientists fan, and you didn’t go to at least one of these shows, you really blew it. They’re getting ready to record a new album for In The Red Records, so hopefully, they’ll tour the U.S. again to support it. Fingers crossed, because I need MORE.
