Nestled within the Joshua Tree Lake and Campgrounds, the Joshua Tree Musical Festival will feature five stages and 40 acres to fill four days and nights with soul-lifting, high-energy music, art, workshops, and more, this Thursday through Sunday, May 12-15, 2022.

Crafted by founder Barnett English and a wealth of devoted staff and volunteers, the space is surrounded by a sweeping mountain landscape and wide-open horizon. Largely sheltered by 35,000 square feet of shade cloth, during the day the site is a uniquely more comfortable outdoor Mojave Desert experience, often aided by cooling winds in the desert sun and night blanketed with its magnificent light-pollution free starscape at night.

“Fall 2021 was an incredible ‘homecoming’ for our JTMF family,” said English in a statement about last year’s festival. “The love and joy in the air was palpable. It reinforced just how special this community, that we have been building for the last 20 years, really is.”

The shelter stages, largely in the round, are flanked by a variety food and artisan vendors and cocktail and coffee bars. This year’s all-ages festival for May will be an “intimate affair” of limited tickets and pre-sale only.

“We’ve chosen the theme ‘Let in the Light’ for this May’s festival,” said Festival Co-producer Cassie Morrow in a statement. “It seems fitting as we emerge from the heaviness of the last couple of years.”

The Festival schedule.
