  1. Hi there,
This is probably a long-shot, but here goes…
My dad was born in LA, in 1937. He told me his mom worked at a restaurant near the LA city hall when he was “little.” He said the name of the restaurant was “Verps.” I have googled like crazy to try to find info about it, but have not had any luck. My dad’s mom died when he was 13-14 years old. I would like to see if you have any knowledge about this restaurant. I think my dad would sure get some joy from hearing about it again, or seeing a photo if one exists.
Would you mind seeing if anyone remembers this place?
Thank you for trying, if possible…
    From a grateful LA native,

How about Cassells Burgers in Korea Town? They have moved at least twice, but their original broiler always goes with them. Currently located in the Normandie Hotel, they have always had great burgers since the 50’s. Nikki: Great job with your list.

My mother is looking for a museum interested in a 100 year old doll she has had her whole life. It’s a “felt covered doll”. She is in perfect condition made with real hair…lace dress and felt coat..
    Do you take donations?

How do we follow the LA Beat? Don’t see anything that says Follow other than on Twitter and Instagram. I am now missing out on all your wonderful articles! Please help, thanks, DD
