Hotrods, Painkillers and Buffalo Ribs? Lead the Way!

Since the first car hop at Bob’s Big Boy, Burbank has long been a part of hot rod culture. Tomorrow from 3:00pm to 9:00pm, hundreds of “custom, vintage and pre ’75 classic cars” plus some Indian motorcycles will be on display in Magnolia Park.

Magnolia Boulevard will be shut down between Hollywood Way and California Street in Magnolia Park for the classic cars, live bands, and dancing. Scheduled bands are The Painkillers and The Amazing Wildcats playing between 4:30 and 9:30.

The Handy Mart usually has an outdoor BBQ with meats to go including briskets, chickens and sometimes even buffalo ribs. Or you could pick up a Cuban sandwich and guava pastry at Porto’s. Urban Eats has an unusual Hawaiian Panini that is also delicious. If you need exercise, it’s just a few blocks to Yummy Cupcakes.

You can peruse a number of antique shops between eating and checking out the cars and waiting for the prizes to be announced. Hell, you might even see Jay Leno. But be careful, he hangs very unpredictable U-Turns!
