Since 2003, Alpha Dogs has held regular hands-on seminars for industry post production professionals – The Editor’s Lounge. Each month, dozens of professionals in the production and post-production industries exchange ideas, discuss trends and learn about new technologies. The sessions allow editors to have their questions answered before they need to know the answer. After a summer hiatus, the Editor’s Lounge is back! This month’s topic is “Exploring Editing Options.”
First up, a review of Premiere Pro Creative Suite 5.5, a fully-featured professional editing workflow offering breakthrough performance compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop Extended. Adobe will demonstrate real-time effects, color correction, accelerated rendering, and superior multilayer performance will show the timesaving integration between Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop. Skip time-consuming transcoding for file based and DSLR footage with broad native format support, including import and export from virtually any format (even Final Cut Pro). Advanced audio editing and more time saving integration in Adobe Audition will also be demonstrated.
Rich Montez will be showing off Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve and discussing what’s new in the recently released version 8. Features highlighted will include; Node-based image processing with sequential and parallel connections, 3D tracking for locking Power Windows™ to on-screen objects, along with real-time stereoscopic and raw RED workflow. Blackmagic Design will also be showcasing several of their new products including the UltraStudio 3D Thunderbolt-based capture/playback, Decklink 4K capture/playback card and several new Mini Converters.
Last, but not least, Ciphertex Data Security will also show how you can protect your digital assets while unattended or during transit between locations. The latest hardware-encrypted hard drive and RAID storage solutions will be on hand.
