Ladies Who Lunch: The Rose Cafe

Since 1979, The Rose Cafe has been giving the people of Venice a place to visit in comfort and style while dining on healthy, delicious foods. Open for breakfast and lunch, The Rose Cafe has a full bakery. You can order from the deli and take a seat in the coffeehouse or sprawling front patio, but ladies lunch on the back patio with the gorgeous new enclosure.

As with any proper lunch spot, salads and sandwiches are the order of the day. Salmon and quiche are also appropriate for delicate appetites, but burgers and fish tacos are available for when one is in a dude mood. Specialties vary from the international (samosas) to the au courant (brie and artichoke sandwiches).

You may also order three deli salads as an entree. I ordered the delectable beet salad with hazelnuts, chicken salad with shredded carrot and zucchini, and a Thai Spring roll. I also asked for an order to go of their fresh fruit, a nice pasta salad, and more beets. More beets always!

It’s nice to leave the table feeling sated, but healthy and not weighed down.
