Dos Equis Wants us to Dine on the Deep End

Let me just start off by saying I am not in love with “The Most Interesting Man in the World.” However, if it were “The Man Who Eats the Most Interesting Things in the World” I’d be glued to my TV set, hanging on every commercial. Now, Dos Equis’ newest and far more intriguing promotion, the “Feast of the Brave” is coming to your town just in time for Cinco de Mayo. Well, it may not be coming to your town, as the trucks are only in six cities, but they are coming to LA (’cause we’re all cosmopolitan like that).

Dos Equis is partnering with local taco trucks between Wednesday, April 25 through Saturday, May 5, to bring us some unique offerings. Now, this is a promotion I can get behind. “In Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Miami, local chefs will be crafting and serving free original tacos specific to each city with ingredients not usually found in your soft or crunchy-shelled taco. From pig ear, chicken gizzard and iguana to alligator, crickets and hog stomach, each taco comes with “bravery points,” pitting the cities in a contest for bravest palette.”

In LA we can look forward to the food stylings of Lawrence Lie and Dominic Lau’s Don Chow Tacos. They will be cooking up wild boar stomach and tongue medley, hog ears and fried bird gizzards – along with a tantalizing “Mystery Taco.”

Today’s schedule:

Dos Equis-Don Chow truck: Catch us in the morning at Mission Beverage (Hollywood Blvd at Cahuenga) from 7am-8am. Next stop is 7083 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028 (at El Cerrito) from 11am-1pm. Funky Taco Friday… Come out, get your free funky taco, and score points for LA as we try to beat the other cities in “Feast of the Brave.”
