Upcoming: The Meters Experience Saturday Night

The Meters were formed in 1966, and these progenitors of funk officially broke up in the late 70s. Since then, there have been a few one-offs at festivals, and of course the Funky Meters, but for the most part if you were looking for your look-a-py-py you gotta keep on lookin’.

Now, founding member and guitarist Leo Nocentelli has decided to continue the New Orleans syncopation of the Meters, playing all of their hits, including Look-a-py-py. You can catch them tomorrow night at The Mint’s New Orleans Jazz Fest Jam 2012, also featuring The Bonedaddys, a band not to be missed. And they all asked for you.
