To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beloved cheesefest that is Dirty Dancing, (RIP Patrick Swayze), Dance Camera West presents the Dirty Dancing Dance-a-Long: a screening of the film at California Plaza downtown with a pre-show salsa lesson from local Latin activists/dance group Contra-Tiempo. The group will also dance along to the film’s major dance scenes! The event is free and will be held on Friday, June 22nd at 7:45pm.
Attendees are encouraged to dress up in 60s attire and the best outfits will earn prizes. The event is co-presented by Grand Performances and the L.A. Film Festival, and it launches the 11th annual Dance Camera West Dance Media Film Festival (June 28 to June 30, at LACMA and the Hammer Museum).
“Come have the time of your life and Dance-A-Long to this romantic classic,” says Tonia Barber, Dance Camera West Executive Director.
