LA IS PARADISE Art Show: MAY 11

ONE NIGHT ONLY
Friday May 11th, 2012 6-8pm
5257 W. Adams Blvd. Los Angeles, CA

A radically diverse cross section of the art world has collectively joined forces for one night only. LA is Paradise celebrates the diversity and brilliance of the LA art world, featuring a broad selection of LA artists from across the city, with work spanning four decades.

“The show features an eclectic group of artists from LA who have never been seen in one place. We’re excited to present them in a format that is free, accessible, independent, and open to the entire city of Los Angeles,” said Remy Holwick, one of the creators of the show.
Although LA is Paradise is independent of galleries and museums, it features artists who have shown in the Getty, the Whitney, LACMA, MOCA, Lab Art and more– artists who have shaped the artistic landscape over the last 40 years, some of whom are no longer alive or working currently. Showing this level of work independent of gallery or museum affiliation allows LA is Paradise to put the show together from a completely fresh perspective, creating new conversations between artists that have previously only been seen in the contexts of their contemporaries, gallery associates, or art movements.

Artists include: Kirk Alley, Johnpaul Altamirano, Van Arno, Anthony Ausgang, Gary Baseman, Birdman, Paul Dillion, Lydia Emily, Korin Faught, Tony Friedkin, Lydia Hearst, HOMORIOT, Wayne Holwick, Kevin Llewellyn, Kenny Scharf, Robert Williams and Suzanne Williams.
