American Way Thrift Store

I miss the days when thrift stores were like bargain nirvana, with mod shirts and 50s leather jackets for a steal. Times have changed and now most thrift stores are chock-a-block with unironic 80s leftovers and shiny polyester 90s babydoll dresses. The cool 50s sweaters and prom dresses have all been spirited away to “vintage” stores.

But there is one thrift store that seems stuck in the past. American Way Thrift Store on Magnolia in Burbank is the kind of place you can buy Levis for 3 bucks, trippy board games and mannequin heads without having to trek up the Ventura. Looking for a mumu? a tutu? Something frou frou? Then head on up to Burbank.
