The Rogue Artists Ensemble presents their second Rogue Fool Fest at the Depict Inc Warehouse downtown on July 20th. The event, which sold out last year, is a steampunk-themed party that includes drinks, art, stilt walkers, burlesque dancers, comedy, carnival games, photo booths and puppets. There will also be music by the fantastically named DJ Sockpuppet and The Peculiar Pretzelmen; the latter is a playful folk band that is “equal parts barn-burning gospel revival and punk rock”. The best steampunk costumed attendees will be crowned The King and Queen of Steam.
The award-winning Rogue Artists Ensemble is a collective of artists and designers who have created a unique art form they call “Hyper-theater”, which combines music, dance, masks and puppetry with digital media, special effects and theatrical illusions.
