This year’s Bloomfest, named for late downtown local Joel Bloom, will be presented by KCRW. Bloomfest is a free celebration of the Downtown Arts District featuring indie music, food, great locally crafted brews by Angel City Brewery, and arts & crafts. This year there is also a KoolKidZone “where kids can sing, dance, and participate in nature crafts, gardening, face painting, mural making, and more.”
The Traction Stage is curated by KCRW host Chris Douridas & EVFA’s Edgar Varela and features bands like Superhumanoids, The Neighbourhood and Grace Woodroofe. Bloom’s Stage (also known as Al’s Bar Tribute Stage) is curated by artist Alberto Miyares and features bands like Mike Watt and the Missingmen, The Gears, Saccharine Trust with Joe Baiza and Carnage Asada. (See a complete band list after the jump).
