In their Own Words II: Latino Contributions to the World of Fine Cuisine

Last night AltaMed’s East LA Meets Napa presented their companion book, “In their Own Words II: Latino Contributions to the World of Fine Cuisine.” Both author Sergio C. Munoz and photographer Lowell Downey were on hand at El Cholo in Pasadena for the big event.

The book is a tribute to local chefs, including Hugo Molina, John Rivera Sedlar, and many others. The chefs contributed their signature recipes, so you can discover the secrets to Rivera’s tortilla florales, El Cholo’s green corn tamales and El Tepayac’s steak picado. The chefs reminisce and tell their personal stories, and the photographs are just stunning. This is definitely one for the coffee table. Plus it goes for a good cause! Order the book through AltaMed.
