Josiah Citrin welcomes guest chef Christophe Dufau to Melisse for 3 nights only starting Wednesday, Oct 17. Citrin and the French Chef of Restaurant Les Bacchanales in Provence will collaborate to create a “10” menu, Citrin’s ten course seasonal tasting menu. As both chefs support local farming and fishing, they will explore the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market to come up with the menu. Executive Chef and favorite of The Beat, Nyesha Arrington has created a special menu for Monday Night Football. Wilshire Restaurant celebrates its new flat screen TVs with treats such as the Wilshire Burger with gruyere, caramelized onions, arugula, bacon hollandaise ($14), Jidori deviled eggs ($6), beer battered pickled green beans ($5), and fried peach pie ($6). Specials will continue through December 17.
Feeling shellfish? “Beginning Monday October 1, 2012 through Sunday, October 28, diners at CHAYA Downtown can delve into a shellfish-centric menu for its inaugural month-long “Crustacean Food Fair.” Diners can expect favorites on the special dinner menu such as Langoustine and Maine Lobster. The tasting menu will feature starters such as Rock Shrimp and Bay Scallop Ceviche with Aji-Amarillo Ponzu ($14); and Half Maine Lobster Sushi featuring four Nigiri-style sushi preparations complemented by Lobster Miso Soup ($26). Main entrées will feature a Pan Roasted Langoustine Ojja with Rock Shrimp, Scallops, Clams, Mussels, Eggs, and Chorizo ($29); and Half Maine Lobster & Jidori Chicken Hot Pot with Porcini Mushrooms, Cippolini Onions, Baby Carrots, and Heirloom Potatoes ($36).
