Beatles Complete (Almost!) on Ukulele at Los Globos

rogergreenawaltA condensed version of The Beatles Complete On Ukulele comes to Los Globos in Silver Lake on Thursday April 11, 8PM- 11PM. Proceeds go to the J/P Haitian Relief Organization which works to provide Haitians with food and water purification systems, housing, education facilities and much more.

The Beatles Ukulele project was founded in 2008 by musician/record producer Roger McEvoy Greenawalt (at left), who has worked with the likes of Iggy Pop, Rufus Wainwright and Albert Hammond Jr. Greenawalt regularly performs the show in New York and at SXSW, usually playing every single Beatles song (there are apparently 185) on his ukulele in 24 hours, aided by a backing band and celebrity guest artists.

The show’s L.A. premiere at Los Globos will stick to 50 songs in 3 hours but will feature such guests as Zander Schloss (The Circle Jerks), Alain Johannes (Queens Of The Stone Age/Eagles Of Death Metal), Michael des Barres, The Pierces, Johanna Chase and Abby Travis. Tickets are $15 and available here.
