Come one & come all to our free Sunday afternoon all-ages show at the Redwood this weekend, featuring a slew of familiar faces for anyone who’s kept abreast of the local music scene’s left field in the last couple of decades.
Former Nip Driver Kurt Schellenback brings his current crew, Labor Camp, to make their hard-rocking Redwood debut at 6pm. They are preceded by the exotic and seductive instrumental onslaught of Swords Of Fatima at 5pm, in which guitarist Buko Pan Guerra and drummer Nick Scott (Popdefect, Project K) compel you to smell their magic vapors. A duo performance from former Webaworld collaborators Weba Garretson and Ralph Gorodetsky (as also seen in Universal Congress Of, Mecolodiacs and Two Bass Hit) opens the proceedings at 4pm.
We’re thankful to Bob Cantu and the Redwood crew, letting us bring free music to the people on a more or less monthly basis, and as always, indebted to the performers that make these shows possible. We hope you’ll come out and support it, bring your kids, and keep rock and roll alive for the people in LA.
The LA Beat Presents takes place every fourth Sunday, usually, from 3pm to 7pm at the Redwood Bar & Grill, 316 W. 2nd Street in Downtown LA. Free admission, all ages welcome.
