Picnic with me Punker!

picnic (Custom)What is up with punks and picnics? Look out, BBQs, you are being edged out! This coming Saturday, August 17, is the 3rd annual Punx Picnic. Expect live bands, vendors, and food for sale, including vegan options. The festivities will take place from noon until 7pm in Elysian Park (directions).

Bands on tap to play include Alexander the Grape, Animals We Trap, Starfish, Les Ours, and Blaster Master, plus many more. Let’s hope they can stick to the tight 20-minute band schedule. There will also be workshops on subjects like tie-dying and zine-making. If that isn’t enough to keep your ADD-addled mind busy, there will be a record/cassette/clothing swap.

A generator will be powering the show, so bring a can of gas if you can. What could possibly go wrong? Other things to bring: a blanket, sunscreen, lots of water, and a picnic basket if you don’t want to purchase food.  Do NOT BYOB. Alcohol is not allowed at this all ages event. Neither are drugs. Neither is sexism, racism, homophobia, or generally being uncool. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
