Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe (Eddie Lin)
Today the LA County Fair opens at 3pm and runs through September 29th. As usual, Chicken Charlie’s will be offering crazy deep-fried fare, including bacon-wrapped pickles and Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe’s. If the stomach-churning food doesn’t get you, the stomach-churning rides definitely will.
In addition to the food and rides, there will be “exotic and mesmerizing underwater animals including sea lions, stingrays, sharks and even mermaids!” (Mermaids are animals?), attractions like Star Trek: The Exhibition, ziplining, plus the usual barnyard animals, wine tastings circus performers, Mojo the Capuchin monkey, shopping and horse racing.
The concert lineup at the End of Summer Concert Series this year features The Jacksons, Los Lobos and Los Lonely Boys. Monday admission is only $1 and for an additional $10 you can see the Bangles in concert.
