This Saturday, February 8th, The Classroom LA presents an afternoon of crafts and cocktails at El Cid in Silver Lake. Once a month, the DIY craft school based in Echo Park brings a different project to El Cid’s patio, and this month there are two: salvaged jewelry making and terrarium building. The sessions are $40 each or $60 for both and you can sign up at EventBrite, then email kelsey@theclassroomla.com to let her know which session.
The Classroom LA in Echo Park offers DIY craft projects instruction as well as continually changing courses in subjects such as planting, sewing, and home decoration. Here are Saturday’s session descriptions:
“Salvaged Jewelry Making – raid your jewelry boxes and resurrect all of those jewelry casualties. Bring your own jewelry scraps to class and work with local jewelry designer Emma Denvir to recycle and redesign them. Learn how to combine your precious pieces with our personal collection via various fastening and jewelry making techniques, and leave with something truly unique!
Terrarium Building – The Classroom LA will teach attendees how to achieve green thumb success with succulents in this playful planting class that covers terrarium design, creation, and care. Bring your own vessel if you like or come play with Classroom LA materials. Sign up, come craft, and leave with a remarkable living art piece perfect for any home!”
