The All-Star Chef Classic, now in its second year, is an innovative four day food extravaganza taking place March 11th – 14th at LA Live. The events take place in the Restaurant Stadium™ where he guests are not only served multicourse gourmet meals, but can watch the action as their meals are prepared in a state-the-art venue with stadium seating, lights, cameras and LED screens. The Chef Classic begins Wednesday, March 11, with the French Masters Dinner featuring fine-dining courses from France’s most acclaimed chefs, paired with a selection of French wines. The dinner will be hosted by Billy Harris and includes dishes by international chef David Toutain, Iñaki Aizpitarte of Le Chateaurbriand and Le Dauphin, Sven Chartier of Le Clown Bar, and LA Beat favorites, San Francisco’s Dominique Crenn, and local hero Ludo Lefebvre.
Thursday, March 12, the American Masters take over Restaurant Stadium™ Some of the finest chefs from across the country will be preparing a five-course dinner ending with dessert from Christina Tosi, founder of Momofuku Milk Bar in New York City. Mozza and La Brea Bakery’s Nancy Silverton, pioneer of molecular gastronomy, Wylie Dufresne, San Francisco’s Daniel Patterson, and Providence’s Michael Cimarusti will be presenting an exciting slice of American cuisine.
In partnership with City of Hope, Friday the 13th’s Cuisine for a Cure brings together Portland’s Jenn Louis, an alumni of of Bravo’s Top Chef Masters, LA’s own Suzanne Goin, cookbook author and James Beard Award winner for Outstanding Pastry Chef Brooks Headley, plus chef, author, and television personality Aaron Sanchez will cook a four-course luncheon “to spread awareness and benefit those fighting cancer and celebrate those who have won the battle.” Star chef Suzanne Goin is well known for working to eradicate cancer with her own annual event for LA Loves Alex’s Lemonade.
Banishing any misconceptions about their cuisine, esteemed British Masters will prepare an elevated and cosmopolitan multi-course dinner on Friday, March 13. Participating all-star British chefs include Welsh-born chef and television personality Bryn Williams, Executive Chef of Duck & Waffle Dan Doherty, former head chef at famed nose-to-tail eatery, St John Bread & Wine, James Lowe, Mark Hix of London’s Hix eateries and multiple award-winning Skye Gyngell.
The four-day Chef Classic will culminate on Saturday night with Grill & Chill, an informal tasting presented by DCS & Stella Artois. The All-Star Chef’s Tasting Area will feature 20 of the best chefs of the event, plus some special surprises. Half of the chefs will be grilling and the other half will present chilled dishes. In addition, there will be cooking demos in the Restaurant Stadium and possibly a cook-off between teams of All-Star chefs – East Coast vs West Coast or men vs women. Featured chefs include Aaron Sanchez, Brooks Headley, Dan Doherty, Carolynn Spence, Jenn Louis, and Jonathan Waxmann, plus locals David LeFevre, Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, Nancy Silverton, Sheree Yard, Suzanne Goin, Josiah Citrin, Ludo Lefebvre, Mary Sue Milliken, Michael Cimarusti, Neal Fraser, Zoe Nathan and Waylon Lucas.
