On Thursday in the Culver City’s Arts District at Samuel Freeman Gallery the BCBG Max Azria Group brought together a gathering of Social Influencers, Editors, Pop Singers, Stylist and Starlets for an exclusive runway presentation of BCBGMAXAZRIA and Hervé Léger by Max AzriaBCBG creative director Lubov Azria hosted the evening festivities. The cocktail reception preceded the fashion show with horderves, champagne and wine. Those of note in attendance for the evening’s fashion event were Annet Mahendru, Constance Wu, Kelly Rowland, Kilo Kish, Dania Ramirez, Lyndsy Fonseca, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, ZZ Ward, Victoria Justice and Empire’s Serayah. To say there were a host of amazingly talented women in attendance for this splendid evening of fashion would have been a thundering understatement! The reception lasted for about an hour as folks arrived, mixed, mingles and shared their hellos before the collections were debuted.

Lobuv proved to be an engaging host and speaker as she detailed the inspirations in designing of The Resort 2016 Collection. As the room settled Lobuv shared one of her key inspirations for The Resort line mentioning French artist Coco Fronsac. Coco Fronsac takes 19th-century portraits to paints ceremonial masks over the subjects’ faces. Lobov shared how these Fronsac inspired masks had found their way into the line’s prints or embroidery. There were 3 stages to the whole presentation in the gallery on Thursday. The first part of the presentation focused more of a ready to wear day and work casual theme. The second being for those women “Who dance and dine”, as Lobuv put it. The looks were very textured and bohemian. The third and last part lent it itself to dresser and evening choices. The parade of looks through the evening included pajama pants, silk dresses, khakis and cotton tab-collar shirt stylings. Then there were the more precisely tailored pieces with plenty of bandage dresses and beaded body conscious lines for sexier form fitted looks for evenings. These were accented with wrap belts, burnout lace, harnesses and beaded fringe hem lines. There were a number of looks that were salaciously fitted with beaded fringe that popped with delicious color ways that ephemerally hinted of Bob Mackie sensibilities. The looks were accompanied with roughed up veronica boots or heeled sandals, whichever was appropriate for the looks presented. While the timing of the fashion walks started off glitchy by finishing the first cat walk early, that all was overcome by better pacing in the next walks and, more importantly, the stylishly delivered outfits by these artfully designed outings.

The evening fittingly closed with applause and all of those in attendance gathering to the center of the gallery to mingle and lavish praise on the BCBGMAXAZRIA and Hervé Léger The Resort 2016 Collections.
