YouBloom L.A. is back next month! The conference takes place on December 12th at the Highland Park Ebell Club, and this year’s keynote speaker is Tom Sturges, former music executive who signed such artists as The Smashing Pumpkins and Foo Fighters. The panel speakers will include Kevin Day (Universal Music Group, Skyrocket Entertainment), Marko DeSantis (Sugarcult) and Dutch Cramblitt (Omnivore Records), and there will be masterclasses on “Knowing Your Rights” and “DIY Recording”. Tickets are available now at $25, or $15 for students, and the price includes all the panels and masterclasses.
The music festival takes place over the 10th, 11th and 12th, and will feature more than 50 bands from ten countries, playing a wide range of genres. Like last year, local L.A. bands will play host to the visiting acts, as part of YouBloom’s focus on community. Performing artists are listed here, but the line-up schedule is coming soon. The participating venues are La Cuevita, Old Towne Pub, Griffins of Kinsale and The Airliner. It’s a great way to discover new up-and-coming acts, not to mention hang out in NELA!
