Not everyone gets to live in a Marshmallow World. Redd Kross (who have recently been popping up here in So Cal clubs with their original lineup under the name the Tourists) capture the ecstatic joy of waking up on Christmas morning with the near-certain knowledge that the sun will be shining and all the freeways will be open, no jacket required. Gene Simmons once made a remark about LA being “sick” for its displays of Santa Claus in shorts, but once you get used to it, there is something beautiful about Christmas in LA, even if it’s strangely beautiful. We need at least one good anthem for that experience, so, thanks for the contribution, Redd Kross.
