now today’s first day of the lunar new year but it was being celebrated in my pedro town saturday so I hobbled on down to the 2nd annual lunar new year festival on the la waterfront (the year of the monkey) near the maritime museum and had a good time. there was much dancing, I saw performances by the los angeles chinese cultural center that I really dug.
new for this year, fujima seiyumi kai who were beautiful and w/the righteous weather – yeah, february in so cal!
oh, on the way I stopped and said hi to dirk who’s re-opened his shoppe, guitar safari in the heart of our pedro town, on sixth street. he’s slinging albums now besides music-making stuff and doing most happening guitar/bass work. so good to see him back in action!
